How do I purchase items on the website?
Online shopping at First Rate Sports is easy. Simply browse through our site using the categories on the right of the page. When you find an item that you'd like to purchase, just click on the "add to cart" button. When you're ready to Checkout, click on the checkout link and our system will walk you through the process of receiving your shipping address, credit card information, and order details.
How long will it take to get my package?
Most packages are shipped within 24 hrs. Your order will ship same day if it is placed Monday - Friday before 3 pm EST. If placed after 3 pm EST, it will be shipped on the next business day. The day the order ships, Saturdays, and Sundays are not considered shipping days. We do offer express shipping at an additional cost.
If I buy something and I dont use it, can I return it?
Any item may be returned for exchange or refund provided it is unused, in the original packaging, and is returned within 30 days of the purchase date. Please call for authorization before returning merchandise. Shipping charges are not refundable.
How long does it take to get something replaced?
If your item is defective and the replacement is in stock, we will try to replace it as soon as possible. Usually your replacement will be shipped within two business days of receiving the defective item.
Can I have my order shipped to my work?
To prevent credit card fraud, we are required to ship all credit card orders to the card holders address.
Can I add to my order?
Only if the items were not already shipped.

Can I cancel an order after it has been submitted?
Yes, you can cancel an order, as long as it has not shipped. If an order has already shipped, you may refuse it or return it within 30 days of receipt for a full refund or exchange. There is no charge for refusing a package. All returns must be in original unused condition and still have the wrapper on. For more on returns, see the Returns page.

Whats the best way to break in a ball glove?
Use glove oil, glove foam or shaving cream and rub it in good. Then put a ball in the glove, wrap it up and put it under your mattress. It's the same as when your great grandfather broke in his glove. I'm a traditionalist, what can I say.
Why do bat companies list a minimum temperature rating for using bats?
Because cold temperatures are guaranteed to dent thin walled bats. Most manufacturers recommend a minimum of 60-65 degrees.
Is my softball bat legal?
With the way the associations change the standards, its best to check their websites and look for approved bats list. The ASA site is www.softball.org.
Will double wall and triple walled bats be legal?
At this time, most double walled and triple walled bats will be sanctioned in all major softball associations. Many players hear that these bats are banned or outlawed. They may be in a league or local tournament. Each director has the final say in regards to leagues or local tournaments.
What size bat should I buy?
Every player is diferent, but a good rule of thumb is to use the heaviest bat that you can swing the fastest.
What is the most common weight for slowpitch softball bats?
Definitely 28oz
Whats better, end-loaded or balanced?
Different types of hitters prefer different types of bat weights. Power hitters with quick powerful swings tend to favor end loaded bats while players with slower bat speed tend to like a balanced bat.
What is BESR?
BESR (Ball Exit Speed Rating) is a term used by the NCAA to rate the performance of baseball bats. All baseball bats must meet this rating to be legal for collegiate play.
